Leica Camera Gemological Microscope

GAA’s professionals examine your gem under the finest Leica lens available on a microscope. Their trained eye can pick up the “birthmarks” of your gem, which appear as a blemishes on the outside of the stone and inclusions on the inside. The scale of measurement for the clarity of a diamond moves from having an absence of incusions and blemishes or flawless (Fl, both inside and out) Internally flawless (IF), very very slightly included (VVS1, VVS2), very slightly included (VS1, VS2), slightly included ( SI1, SI2), to included (I1, I2, I3) which contain many blemishes and inclusions.

Sarin Colibri Diamond Colormeter

GAA has New Generation Reliable Technology to grade your stones. For color grading polished diamonds Sarin’s Colibri is a state-of-the-art, color grading product. Its new technotlogy uses hi-tech LEDs and software algorithms to not only calculate the color of the diamond, but to measure its fluorescence regardless of the diamond’s size and shape. Colibri can measure mounted stones as well. It grades the color of a polished diamond from D to Z with high accuracy. It measures to plus or minus 1 color grade for mounted stones. Measures in GIA, AGS, HRD, EGL, IGI, and other grading stems. It measures and grades 5 levels of fluorescence.

Sarin Diamension

With GAA’s Sarin machine our gemologists are able to grade the cut of stone’s to the finest degrees. The cut is the most important aspect of a gem that affects its ability to reach its full potential to release its particular brilliance ( the total light reflected from a diamond), fire (the dispersion of light into the colors of the spectrum), and scintillation (the flashes of light, or sparkle, when a diamond is moved). With no two cuts being alike our Sarin machine can tell the exact proportions of a stone; proportions of a diamond refer to the relationships between table size, crown angle and pavilion depth. A wide range of proportion combinations are possible, and these ultimately affect the stone’s interaction with light. With 58 facets on a typical round brilliant diamond, it is no wonder that stones are hard to cut into an excellent shape. It is a rare quality that stones have, and rarity in diamonds is rewarded by a higher price tag, thus a better cut brings with it a higher value.

The Diamension, through its Re-Cut Software can offer suggestions for improving the stones cut, according to all major labs criteria. Our gemologists will consult with you the possibilities for re-cutting your stone.
